Sandwell Leisure Trust shortlisted for three UKactive Awards

We are delighted to share that Sandwell Leisure Trust (SLT) has been named as a finalist in three categories of the prestigious National UKactive Awards 2025, one of the leisure industry’s biggest celebrations of excellence and innovation.

SLT has been shortlisted for:

• Midlands Regional Club of the Year: Sandwell Aquatic Centre
• Digital Transformation Award
• Outstanding Leadership Award

With a record-breaking number of entries this year from leading operators across the UK, reaching the finals is already a major achievement and a proud moment for Sandwell. It also reflects the strength of the partnership between SLT and Sandwell Council in delivering outstanding leisure and wellbeing services for local communities.

Our new Ambassador

This exciting news comes as we welcome Mark Wildman, SLT’s Head of Operations, as the latest member of the Sandwell Business Ambassadors. Mark brings a wealth of experience in leisure management and will play a key role in strengthening the links between SLT, the council and local businesses.

Supporting health and wellbeing in Sandwell

Alongside being recognised nationally, SLT continues to play a role in promoting healthy lifestyles here in Sandwell. On Tuesday 24 September, SLT is hosting a special National Fitness Day event at the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. Running from 8am to 4pm, the event will showcase fun, free activities for staff, patients, visitors and the local community.
